The Eyes Have It

Expressive Eyes
Curiosity

As humans, we communicate with our eyes more often than we realize. Our eyes can show sadness, joy and so many more emotions. How often have you looked into your dog’s eyes and known exactly what they are thinking or feeling?

The eyes say everything. I think people tend to forget that the wildlife around us have emotions too. As a wildlife photographer, it’s very important to capture a subject’s eyes in an image. Whether it’s the bright red eyes of a beautiful Wood Duck or the soulful stare of a Black Bear, the eyes bring our images to life. With the click of the shutter, we catch what an animal is feeling and for a moment, we share in something wonderful. If the image is everything we hoped for, we get to relive that sensation every time we view our pictures.

This week I wanted to share a few of my favorite images that show off the many beautiful eyes of wildlife. I hope you enjoy them.
