Snow Geese Return to Texas
This weekend Tracy and I decided to brave the cold weather and head out to Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge near Sherman, Texas. We went to photograph and watch the Snow Geese that fly in every winter. As usual we were not disappointed. Thousands of snow white geese spiral down from the sky like a giant snow globe. The overcast sky didn’t produce the best images but the experience was memorable.
Snow Geese migrate each year from the central Canadian Tundra. An interesting fact is that they come in two distinct colors. There is the typical white (snow) phase but there is also the blue phase giving them the nickname “Blue Goose”.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Happy New Year!
